A pedigree is a tool to help breeders develop the best breeding program they can, and to produce healthy puppies. The paper alone is not a big deal, it's the knowledge of the dogs behind the puppy, the dogs listed in the pedigree, and the research done, that helps a breeder produce the best puppies, closest to the breed standard. We use the pedigree for this sort of tool, and so offer it to anyone who asks.
All of our dogs come very close to the Breed Standards, however there is never perfection. (find breed standards at the bulldog club of america website or click here bulldog standards). We do look for puppies to develop into show quality, to show in the AKC conformation ring in some litters. If you are interested in show pups, please email. These girls are AKC registered with champions in their pedigrees. Champions whom we have met the owners, met the dogs, or have done research on. This research is done so we can come to understand how their genetics and health may affect our dogs and the future of our puppies.
We believe health tests and generations of dogs bred is the best way to really know the health of your dog. This is why we OFA certify. Also, you can view grandparents, and 3 generations, usually laying around our home at any one time. This is how we know what sort of pups we are offering, because we are raising generations in our home.
We find the pedigree useful for researching purposes, for finding health on generations past. So we make the pedigrees available to you. Pedigrees are necessary in order to Line Breed. Pedigrees are also necessary to Cross Breed, for how do you know what lines you are breeding without a pedigree? If you are interested in that discussion it is best for a phone conversation. 520-971-8310 PRK@wildblue.net

If you are still having trouble reading your puppy's pedigree, your breeder or veterinarian should be happy to help you interpret the pedigree so you can fully understand its importance.
The lineage of your new puppy or adult dog is important and can be a fascinating thing to research and discover through dog pedigrees. Although every puppy for sale does not have an impressive pedigree, this should not tell you that the puppy is bad. Determine what is important for you before searching for a new puppy and certainly before buying a puppy for sale. |
